Description

In 1978, PETE TOWNSHEND of THE WHO was interviewed in a music magazine & said that The Who would probably never tour again. I, like many others, wrote to PT at his Twickenham offices to try to persuade him otherwise!

These two letters are:-

1. A standard 'reply' which was sent to all those who wrote in about the article. This is signed by Pete Townshend himself. The letter is not dated

2. The second letter is a personal one to me again signed by Pete Townshend. It is dated 13th July 1978 and I have the envelope to prove authenticity etc.

The second one is particular, is interesting, and contains some heartfelt comments about touring and making the 'WHO ARE YOU' album. As ebay is a public domain, I'm not going to reproduce the text here, but there are three paragraphs. I was really touched when I got this & that he'd taken the trouble to reply to my letter.

The sale consists of the two letters and the envelope in which the second personel letter came.

This is part of a clearout of WHO stuff I collected 25 years ago or so - hope this finds a good home.
