On the debut LP of his own label, tenor saxophonist Pete Christlieb welcomed some of his musical friends to play two standards and a variety of originals. Christlieb used different personnel on each selection including tenor great Warne Marsh (one of his idols), altoist Joe Roccisano, flugelhornist Steve Huffsteter, guitarist John Morell, pianist Lou Levy, organist Mike Melvoin, bassist Jim Hughartand Dick Berk or Nick Ceroli on drums. A special moment occurs on "Vu-Ja-Day" for Pete's father, Don Christlieb, contributes some bassoon. Overall this is a fine showcase for the underrated Pete Christlieb although the album (along with the other Bosco releases) will be difficult to find Pete Christlieb (born February 16, 1945) is an American musician, playing tenor saxophone in the styles of jazz bebop, West Coast jazz, hard bop and pop music. Christlieb played the sax solos on Steely Dan's hit song "Deacon Blues" from the album Aja; Natalie Cole's Grammy award-winning album Unforgettable; and the extended tenor sax solo on the song "FM (No Static at All)" from the movie of the same name.

Louis A. "Lou" Levy (March 5, 1928 – January 23, 2001) was an American jazz pianist.His chief influences were Art Tatum and Bud Powell.

A professional at age nineteen, Levy played with Georgie Auld (1947 and later), Sarah Vaughan, Chubby Jackson (1947–1948), Boyd Raeburn, Woody Herman'sSecond Herd (1948–1950), Tommy Dorsey (1950) and Flip Phillips. Levy left music for a few years in the early 1950s and then returned to gain a strong reputation as an accompanist to singers, working with Peggy Lee (1955–1973), Ella Fitzgerald (1957–1962), June Christy, Anita O'Day and Pinky Winters. Levy also played with Dizzy Gillespie, Shorty Rogers, Stan Getz, Terry Gibbs, Benny Goodman, Supersax and most of the major West Coast players. Levy recorded as a leader for Nocturne (1954), RCA, Jubilee, Philips, Interplay (1977), and Verve.

Warne Marion Marsh (October 26, 1927 – December 18, 1987) was an American tenor saxophonist. Born in Los Angeles, his playing first came to prominence in the 1950s as a protégé of pianist Lennie Tristano and earned attention in the 1970s as a member of Supersax

Nicholas Mathew Ceroli (December 22, 1939 – August 11, 1985) was an American jazz drummer.Ceroli was born in Niles, Ohio, United States. He did a tour of Central and South America in 1963 with Ray Anthony, and that same year recorded with Jack Teagarden and played with Gerald Wilson at the Monterey Jazz Festival. In 1965, he played with Stan Kenton, then spent from 1965 until 1969 playing in Herb Alpert's group, the Tijuana Brass.[1] He moved to Hollywood and became a prolific studio musician, working with Pete Jolly (c. 1969), Zoot Sims (1976, 1984), Richie Kamuca (1977), Warne Marsh (1977–78), Ross Tompkins (1977), Bill Berry (1978), Dave Frishberg (1978), Pete Christlieb (1978), Bob Florence (1979–81), and Milt Jackson (1981).
