Description
PETE BEST
Beatles drummer on his own
The first recorded drummer for the Beatles was Pete Best. In many ways he was a crowd favorite even beyond the charms of John or Paul, but when the band was about to be launched on their career with Parlophone Records, Pete was shown the door and the new guy, Ringo Starr, was brought in.
Pete didn't take it lying down. He struck back with a few records of his own. This one, from 1965 even boasts the label name ‘Original Beatles Drummer’
The songs here are “(I’ll Try)Anyway” and “I Wanna Be There.” You have to wonder if the titles aren’t a little wistful considering what was going on with his bandmates at the time.
