Description
Once upon a time about 38 years ago, somebody went to his favorite record shop, plunked down maybe four bucks, and bought what would, much later, be acknowledged as one of the greatest pop rock albums of all time. But back in 1966, the new "Pet Sounds" album was just another Beach Boys release. And for whatever reason (maybe he heard a couple songs on the radio and was sorely disappointed -- this new stuff wasn't surf music!), that somebody never played the record -- in fact, never even opened it!
This is that album: the original 1966 Capitol T2458 mono LP by the Beach Boys, "Pet Sounds." The record itself is (presumably) in mint condition, with the sleeve still completely shrink-wrapped. I and other collectors have inspected it carefully to ensure its authenticity. The scan below shows a faint circular wear (on the wrap, naturally) and a little bump of the upper right corner. Otherwise, even the sleeve itself is in pristine condition. (Sorry about the small scan, but let's face it -- this looks like any other unsealed Pet Sounds album you've seen).
