PEGGY LEE ‘BLACK COFFEE’ ORIGINAL 10” BRUNSWICK LA 8629 LP
Sleeve Condition: A little inevitable ringwear, sticker remains to rear and “112’ written. Otherwise this is in delightful condition, a little age browning to rear white laminate is about the only defect. A really very, very well-kept sleeve without creasing, tears or damage.
Record Condition: Visually the record is in lovely condition, and it is clear, even from the label that it has been played very little. There is one very, very light mark on Side one which is so light as to be only visible when held to one side under a strong light. It does not affect play in the slightest.
There is a vinyl noise presence in the odd tick and crackle here and there, more obvious on the first track of Side 1, but no prolonged clicks or really noisy patches and certainly nothing which spoils or detracts from the music. In fact, this is one of the rare exceptions for a hard almost shellac-like LP that I’ve ever had which exhibits no constant ‘ssh’ or distortion in the music. Most LPs of this age have been played on vinyl-destroying, 1950’s equipment designed for the 78 rather than what was then, the new LP format. However, this one has clearly not and the sound quality really is exceptional.
A very nice example of a really quite scarce collector’s item.
