PEARL BOX REVUE rare strange KILLER '70s drag queen LP Shipping Info | S/H info: Description PEARL BOX REVUE call me MISSter on SNAKE EYES records (private press) and distributed by All Platinum in jersey that did one or two great funk records. this is a truly amazing vintage 70's XXX drag queen gatefold double album artifact from obscure nyc entertainer/scenester foursome. disc one "at the party" is an all-out improv'd free-for all sh*t talking session - the girls are clearly ripped out of there minds and having a great time - showing off their arsenal of one-liners and come-backs honed, almost certainly, from years of homophobe-ish hecklers. disc two "the serious side of us" is a fascinating and truly moving glimpse into the world of the nyc drag queen: the persecution they faced, hard knock life stories and a rare glimpse behind the supposed sexual revolution and "new found freedom" of that time. a great record and VERY hard to find (especially in this beautiful condition!) - very highly recommended. keys: unusual undeniably strange real people warhol velvet underground new york dolls lou reed wayne county bowie glam max's kansas city divine john waters psych samples killer DIY cover art etc. very fun collection today of genre-less private pressings, spoken word curiosities and children's oddities. see my other auctions and visit my websites: showandtellmusic.com and companionrecords.com
