Description
Pavel Alexejevic Serebrjakov ( Tsaritsyn, February 28, 1909 - Leningrad, 1977 ) was a Russian pianist. Studied with Leonid Nikolejev at the Leningrad Conservatory. In 1932 he won the annual Chopin Competition in Warsaw, 1933 he placed 2nd in the I National Piano Competition and toured as a concert pianist. Shortly thereafter he was made a Professor at the Leningrad Conservatory and was made it's Director vom 1938 - 1951 and from 1968 - his death in 1977.
