Vinyl:  MINT!  SEALED!  This is the Original 1975 Capitol 1ST PRESSING!!  SMAS-11419.  (This is NOT the Columbia Reissue!!!--this is the Original 1ST Pressing!)   A Wings collaboration with a full band of 5, this one powered Wings' massive World Tour of 1975 that culminated in the motion picture "Rock Show", which chronicled the Tour.  From the sublime "Love In Song"  to power rockers of "Rock Show", "Spirits of Ancient Egypt" and the overlooked gem "Letting Go".   Enjoy!

Cover: Mint!  Sealed!!  (see photos)  Gatefold.  Has the hype sticker UNDER the Shrink as it was when it was Originally released.  This SCARCE Sealed album should have all the goodies that my personal Original Capitol 1ST Pressing has:  the posters, the stickers including the Venus And Mars snooker balls sticker and "The Comparative Sizes of Sun And Planets" sticker, etc.  I weighed the one I'm selling and my opened personal copy and they both weigh 1 pound 1 ounce.  I can feel with my finger the original pasteboard inner sleeve.  The Shrink is mostly intact.  The shrink is split on a portion 5 inches long on the left side and about 1 inch long on the right side of the bottom edge.  There is also a less than 1 inch split of shrink on the edge of the cover where you would take the record out.
Super Nice high gloss on cover. Front and back of cover artwork and text are rich, clear and bright.  Seams, corners and spine are solid and clean, with minor wear on the bottom edge.  No bumps.  No creases.  No writing.  Spine print is crystal clear.  The record appears straight; when I look down with one eye down all 4 edges there's no big, ominous bow to it that would suggest that it's warped.
I will gladly accept the return of Sealed records as long as they have not been opened (i.e. as long as they are still in the condition I sent them in).  Every record has a "fingerprint" of imperfections in the seal and/or the cover and I separately photograph and keep these details to prevent fraudulently returned items...yep, there are a few rotten apples out there!)  I will not accept a previously sealed record that has been opened, even if the complaint is that the record is warped.  This is why I look down the edge of all 4 sides of the record, to assess for potential bowing.  Look for that in the description of the covers of all my Sealed items. Thanks!  By the way, I've never (knock on wood!) had a buyer complain that they received a warped Sealed record.  :)

Why buy a first or early pressing and not a re-issue or a ‘re-mastered’ vinyl album? 
First and early pressings are pressed from the first generation lacquers and stampers. They usually sound vastly superior to later issues/re-issues (which, in recent times, are often pressed from whatever 'best' tapes or digital sources are currently available) - many so-called 'audiophile' new 180g pressings are cut from hi-res digital sources…essentially an expensive CD pressed on vinyl.  Why  experience the worse elements of both formats?  These are just High Maintenance CDs, with mid-ranges so cloaked with a veil as to sound smeared.  They are nearly always compressed with murky transients and a general lifelessness in the overall sound.  There are exceptions where re-masters/re-presses outshine the original issues, but they are exceptions and not the norm. 

First or early pressings nearly always have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider.  Subtle instrument nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with a far-tighter bass. Upper-mid ranges shine without harshness, and the overall depth is more immersive.  Inner details are  clearer.  

On first and early pressings, the music tends to sound more ‘alive’ and vibrant.  The physics of sound energy is hard to clarify and write about from a listening perspective, but the best we can describe it is to say that you can 'hear' what the mixing and mastering engineers wanted you to hear when they first recorded the music.

Band on the Run was a commercial success, but even if it was billed as a Wings effort, it was primarily recorded by Paul, Linda, and Denny Laine. So, it was time to once again turn Wings into a genuine band, adding Joe English and Jimmy McCulloch to the lineup and even letting the latter contribute a song. This faux-democracy isn't what signals that this is a band effort -- it's the attitude, construction, and pacing, which McCartney acknowledges as much, opening with an acoustic title track that's a salute to arena rock, leading to a genuine arena rock anthem, "Rock Show." From that, it's pretty much rocking pop tunes, paced with a couple of ballads and a little whimsy, all graced with a little of the production flair that distinguished Band on the Run. But where that record was clearly a studio creation and consciously elaborate, this is a straightforward affair where the sonic details are simply window dressing. McCartney doesn't really try anything new, but the songs are a little more varied than the uniform, glossy production would suggest; he dips into soft-shoe music hall shuffle on "You Gave Me the Answer," gets a little psychedelic with "Spirits of Ancient Egypt," kicks out a '50s rock & roll groove with "Magento and Titanium Man," and unveils a typically sweet and lovely melody on "Listen to What the Man Said." These are a slight shifts on an album that certainly feels like the overture for the arena rock tour that it was, which makes it one of McCartney's more consistent listens, even though it's possible to scan the song listing after several listens and not recognize any song outside of "Listen to What the Man Said" and the opening medley by title.
