"Band on the Run" is the third studio album by Paul McCartney and Wings, released in December 1973. It was McCartney's fifth album after leaving the Beatles in April 1970. Two hit singles from the record, "Jet" and "Band on the Run" made the record the top-selling studio album of 1974 in the United Kingdom and Australia, in addition to boosting McCartney's critical standing. It remains McCartney's most successful album and the most celebrated of his post-Beatles work. In 2000, Q Magazine placed it at #75 in it's list of the "100 Greatest British Albums Ever". In 2012, "Band on the Run" was voted #418 on Rolling Stone's revised list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". It was McCartney's last album issued on the Apple Record label. This is the 1973 ORIGINAL US Vinyl Pressing on the Apple Records label. The catalog # on the spine is: SO 3415. The original picture sleeve and one-sided poster are both included. The vinyl is visually graded by Goldmine standards as Near Mint. Looks hardly played. There is a name that is barely written on side 1 label. The cover is graded as EX+/Near Mint. There is some wear at the top of the spine, but overall almost flawless for its age. Record has been stored in a heavy duty anvil case since 2006.
