PAUL KENT: Paul Kent (B&C, CAS 1044, 1971, LP)
As with most September Productions LPs you get much of the cream of the British folk-rock session crew, including Pat Donaldson and Gerry Conway from Fotheringay, Andy Roberts, ex-Liverpool Scene, Ray Warleigh, Tim Renwick from Quiver, and Roger Powell from Mighty Baby. A bit out of genre, perhaps, Tony Reeves, ex-Colosseum, also plays on this.
Songwise, there is the odd bit with wheezing harmonica (played by Chris Turner, from the ebullient Missouri Compromise and Ian Anderson's Country Band - another September artist) and singalong verses that sounds a bit like Lindisfarne, but other parts remind me strongly of Colin Scot, which is no bad thing.
The sleeve has some light bubbling - probably water damage at some point long before it was in my collection - and some scuffing on the rear, plus some edge scuffing - see the photos. Otherwise it is VG. The record plays at EX with some light random background near the start of side 1. Overall, a very nice listening experience.
* * * * Records generally have hairline or other surface marks from removal from/insertion into sleeves - these are not mentioned unless causing audible noise. Records are play tested unless stated and any defects over and above what should be expected of the generic Record Collector grading are described in the listing. Please look at the photos carefully for condition of sleeves, etc.

* * * * All items are from my own various collections and most have been in storage for 20+ years. Lockdowns (and various heart ops.) made me wonder why I have thousands of records that I will never choose to listen to again.
