‘Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra’ is the final solo album by Paul Kantner and the only Kantner solo release to be solely credited to the singer-songwriter although it features members of Jefferson Starship circa ‘83.
The title comes from an unofficial name for San Francisco artists who recorded on various albums in 1970–1973, also known as PERRO.
These artists included; Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Grace Slick, Billy Krutzman, Mickey Hart, David Grisman, etc.
"The Mountain Song" was written during the 1970s recording sessions by Kantner and Jerry Garcia.
This cult classic contains several celebrity appearances by such artists as; The Turtles (Flo & Eddie), Grace Slick, Ronnie Montrose, Jack Cassidy to front an extended musical trip similar to recent Jefferson Starship efforts.
Covered in hard plastic RCA Records cases, each side of the album are in mint condition. No other test pressings of this gem are in existence.
