Description
PAUL GONSALVES QUARTET - "boom-jackie-boom-chick", date: 1964, on VOCALION Records (LAE 587) from ENGLAND / GREAT BRITAIN / UNITED KINGDOM / UK / GB
rare holy grail of UK modern 60´s jazz history... people saying only 300 or 500 copies were pressed in the 60´s, this ist the original 1964 pressing from the UK (not the japanese reissue.... japanese reissue says on the label "pressed in japan")
monster killer modern jazz back from the 60´s but with a amazing timeless touch with PAUL GONSALVES (sax), PAT SMYTHE (piano), KENNY NAPPER (bass), RONNIE STEVENSON (drums)...... with the outstanding track "boom-jackie-boom-chick" (first part of audio sequence) and the track "taboo" (second part of audio sequence)
one thing to be fair.... the spindle-hole of the record is a little too wide / big, but if you move it to a special point / end of the spindle-hole it rotates perfectly round and it´s very easy to find the right place for the spindle.... please check the 4th picture
sound samples are always taken from the original offered record... please take a listen to make yourself a acoustic picture about the music and the conditions
