PAUL ANKA

With Orchestra Sid Feller

SIDE A:     COLECCION DE TONTOS

                  (The Fools Hall Of Fame)

SIDE B:     TAN, TAN LEJOS

(Far From The Lights Of Town)

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original MONO Polydor Records very first press released in Chile in 1962 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. Productos Eléctricos, licensed from ABC Paramount Records, USA, through the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Germany, catalog number 612 389, with machine etched matrix numbers 612-389-A LT R1 (“LT” handwritten) in Side A and 612-389-B  LT R1 (“LT” handwritten) in Side B, with traditional orange/black Polydor “scroll” Records labels, with white “Polydor” and rim text, and 3-prong push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The Fools Hall Of Fame” was originally released by Paul Anka in USA in January 1962 and the same year we got this single released here in Chile. Song titles are written in Spanish only, with full credits for Paul Anka as songwriter and for Orchestra Sid Feller, with additional information about licenses and price, “E°1,38”, printed in Side A. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this single by Paul Anka released in Chile and with Spanish-written song titles, a record almost never seen. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collector of Paul Anka, Sid Feller and early days of Rock’N’Roll music!!!

This single doesn’t have a cover. The record is in NM- or NM condition both sides, glossy and clean, with minimal scuffs only, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in EX- or EX condition both sides, with some light spindle hole wear, some faint blemishes, residues of tape in Side A and tears in 2 prongs of Side B, with the name of some past owner written in both sides. The sound is in strong EX- or even EX condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, with a soft background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with occasional and barely audible very soft crackles here and there, and in VG or VG+ condition the Side B, almost same condition as Side A, but with occasional light hiss and a bit more evident soft crackles in the last seconds of the song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS of this single by Paul Anka, with Spanish-written song titles, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure a record with still a great glossy look, clear and clean labels and great sound quality after about 60 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this Chilean single!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

___________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
