PATTO: Hold Your Fire. UK Vertigo stereo orig (swirl label). 6360 032. 1971

 

I’m genuinely proud to offering this wonderful album for sale. I saw Patto live many times, and this, to my mind at least, is their best album by far. As I’m sure you know, this record hardly ever turns up, and when it does, it’s usually knackered. This copy has a tatty sleeve, but superb condition vinyl. The elaborate Roger Dean cut-up sleeve is still intact, but a previous owner has taped the spine. The tape has now come off leaving a discoloured strip up the left hand side. There is also a smallish mark where a sticker has been, top left. (see pic) The top two cut-outs are still completely attached, but very worn at the spine, while the bottom cut-out is split from the spine for about an inch. The actual printing is still pretty clean, but I guess this sleeve is really G at best. As I said, though, there is nothing missing, it’s just tatty and flimsy. The vinyl, on the other hand, is still in it’s original Vertigo inner sleeve, and in fantastic shape. There is hardly a mark, and I’d grade the vinyl a strong EX. I reckon this album is just going to get rarer and rarer, so don’t miss this one.
