Hawks & Doves

Very Rare original US LP released on Pete Records in 1968. 1st US pressing in a unipak gatefold sleeve.

Passing Clouds were a west coast pop/psych outfit that released their lone album on the Los Angeles based Pete Records (another artist on this label was Carol Stromme, see “The Soft Sound Of Carol Stromme” July 28, 2010 post).

Of note here is the album’s closer, the excellent “Dr. Bernstein’s Dream”, a sort of early Pink Floyd/Beach Boys hybrid.

“Some ace soft and twee late 60s pop here, plenty of very fine vocal melodies and harmonies. Super lightweight, just the way I like it. Some classy bossa nova smooth pop elements too. 60s timbral integrity goes a long way.” (herkyjerky RYM)
