Rare
PARAMOUNT Original 78rpm  Record
this is an obscure and seemingly unknown
record of Holiday / Christmas Songs released c. 1925
on the legendary label Paramount # 33191

the Festival Choir of All Souls

"Hark The Herald Angels Sing" / "Oh Come All Ye Faithful"

both songs have Organ accompaniment.

this has been FULLY PLAY TESTED and it plays
and sounds very good with typical 78rpm / Shellac sound
and a few spots with pops and or tics, but there's nothings severe.
it's an Electrically Recorded 78 so the sound is pretty full and
clear for the times. we're not sure who or where this group
is from, whether it's a black or white church group, etc.

what we do know is that this was recorded in
between and at around the same time as a few very
important Paramounts (because of where it falls in-between
other matrix numbers). these sides were recorded between
the Blind Lemon Jefferson "He Rose From The Dead"
session (Blind Lemon's 1st Session for Paramount!)
and a Charlie Jackson recording session. now i'm not
claiming that this choir included Blind Lemon and
Charlie Jackson among its members, but it's pretty
unusual for Paramount and because of the importance
of this label, it may be of interest to Paramount
and / or early Christmas 78rpm Record Collectors

a note about shipping - 78rpm records are as fragile
as an eggshell. they break incredibly easily. but that said, we
have extensive experience packing and shipping 78s
and know how to ship them to avoid breakage. this
does add to shipping charges, though, as
it requires extra packing materials.
