Paolo Ferrara - La vita e l'amore
Italian pressing, Abramo Allione AA 1005 (1976)
Very rare and quite unkown library by Paolo Ferrara, the prolific arranger, singer and keyboard player (who also recorded the super sought-after Floyd-esque library "Profondità"). A weird concept album and an imaginary soundtrack about the everydaylife of a couple in love. Totally amazing jazz and lounge mood music with Paolo Ferrara interpretations of "Take5" as a filrouge of the whole record! Includes the killer modal jazz APPUNTAMENTO IN CETRO (with crispy jazz drums and psychedelic stoned keyboards) and the unbelievable buzz flute bossa PICCOLA LITE. AL MERCATO is a version of the main jazz theme with superb trombone solo; IN GIRO CON TE is just amazing soundtracky lounge jazz (nice trombone again) and CIAO A DOMANI is a stoned hammond version of the aformentioned cue; More variation of the main jazz theme on COSE DI TUTTI I GIORNI. Amazing record, listen!
