Description
This is incredibly rare - a copy of Panhandle's self-titled 1971 LP on Decca (B-SKL 5105, full frequency range recording (ffrr), New Zealand pressing). The band line-up is fascinating legendary guitarist Chris Spedding, Dudley Moore - yes the Dudley Moore on piano, recognised bottom end pairing of Barry Morgan (drums) and Herbie Flowers (bass), Jon Gobin (lead vocals), Martin Kershaw (guitar), Dennis Lopez (percussion), the fabulous P.P. Arnold on backing vocals with Liza Strike and Kay Garner. The end result is an album of staggeringly good covers: Amoreena (Bernie Taupin, Elton John), John Fogerty's Penthouse Pauper and Up Around The Bend, John Lee Hooker's Dimples, Jagger and Richards' Bitch, standards like I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Suzie Q, I Wanna Take You Higher, and Mama Told Me Not To Come, and the excellent From the Film Of The Same Name. It's all done with a brilliant bluesy rock feel with psych edges. Critically acclaimed this ultrarare Lp is very very hard to find. The cover is VG+ or better - the front has a little wear on the corners while the back has a little ageing and a touch of ringwear. The vinyl is also VG+ - light scuffing and marks but plays very well. A very good copy indeed. Your chance to grab a genuine rarity. Any sale over $100 has free postage to anywhere in the world.
