TREMENDOUSLY RARE 78 Pressing of Pablo Casals' historic renditions of Bach Cello suites 1 and 6 for the Bach Society Incredibly scarce His Master's Voice EXPORT pressing: DT tax codes, small white stamp-like stickers on each label reading "Made in England for Radio Corporation of America", each paper sleeve is HAND-NUMBERED with official 'MADE IN ENGLAND' stamp, 8000 serial number, 'Copyright patented record...' edge print, no binder. ~It is possible that these EXPORT editions did not come in the usual "Bach Society" binder ~ These seven 12" 78's were the first ever edition of Casals' interpretations of the Bach Cello suites available to buy within the United States! ~ Audiophile analogue quality, superior to some later pressings of this great recording ~These 78's have been in my family for over 50 years, played only rarely.
CONDITION: Sleeves: VG++ Light bending to corners. No extraneous marks, only slight splitting one or two discs. Labels: VG+ to NM-. A few discs have some light visible spindle marks, DB 8592 has a very slight tear near spindle hole. No writing or spindle tear, these beautiful labels retain much of their original sheen and gloss. Vinyl: Excellent. Visually, these 78's are shiny and clean with only few faint paper scuffs and hairline marks. Overall tremendous audiophile quality.
