Description
A massive job lot sale of 50`s & 60`s singles, a total mix up from the last 50 odd years which include 260 manufacturers custom sleeved, 62 picture sleeved, 270 plain sleeved, and 123 non sleeved. If you are thinking the ones with no sleeves on are junk and only fit for the bin, you are very much mistaken - the only reason they have no sleeves is because I haven`t got round to it, and now I am having a proper ear-bashing to clean up all my records (heartbreaking I know). Now to what you may be bidding for, you WILL find Rock`n`roll, ELVIS, ORBISON, FURY, CLIFF, SHADOWS, SEARCHERS, TORNADOS, HOLLY, CHECKER,EVERLY BROTHERS you know the score all the names, they`re all here, some MOTOWN, MARVIN GAYE, MARTHA REEVES & VANDELLAS, DIANA ROSS & SUPREMES, FOUR TOPS, ISLEY BROTHERS, STEVIE WONDER, I know there is a sleeve in there saying something about "MOTOWN the sound of young Americans", I remember a couple of CHESS 60`s label FONTELLA BASS, THE DELLS, also MILLIE, CHIFFONS, etc, loads of POP TOM JONES< SCAFFOLD< MANFRED MANN, BOBBY DARIN, MONKEES, MOODY BLUES< PROCUL HARUM, BOB DYLAN, CONNIE FRANCIS, BOBBY VEE, FLOWERPOT MEN, etc etc etc etc, there is a small amount of SOUL/NORTHERN, ARTHUR CONLEY, HARRY J, there are also som of the more easy listening but not that many, DAVID WHITFIELD, RUSS CONWAY, BACHELORS, SPRINGFIELDS, JIM REEVES etc. A few musical ones around 20 or so GLEN MILLER, DORSEY, COUNT BASIE. There are some of the less serious records from the sixties also, JIMMY TARBUCK, PETER SELLERS, STANLEY HOLLOWAY, and of course they`re coming to take me away. Now you are probably thinking these have been sorted and I`m being left with rubbish - wrong again- I am in desperate need of scaling down my record collection, ranging from 50`s through till 2000`s, and they have to go - so why should I sort them(for one I haven`t got time), so bulk lots will have to go. You WILL find in here that the majority of the records are in this years Record Collectors Guide, which only values records above £5 - I know for sure that some are valued in excess of £20, because I did think of taking them out, until I had THAT LOOK from the Wife, many of them are in hardly played condition, some have light marks, some may have some crackle, some will have some scratches, as invariably happens with any collection but they shouldn`t be too bad, a few will need a clean. Remember there are just over 700 records here, if there are a few scratched a bit worse for wear, it may have been I bought it for the B side or vice versa. I have not gone through them and scrapped any, because this was all done as I have been collecting them in the past years, I have bought them in various ways, some from DJ`s who have given it up, and some I`ve bought with the intention of treasuring. 7 years ago I got married, and had children, the house seemed to grow smaller - we were filling it up. Some have a number or sticker on the labels, I have not tried to remove them in fear of tearing the label, some may have intitals or names, most are clean without either. There are a few American issued discs, as the US "pre-dinked theirs, a few of the UK issues have been dinked. All inall its a great lot for collectors, or sellers as I say many of these are valued at more than the £5 collectors price. The dreaded postage bit - as you can expect this is a very heavy lot - and Royal Mail are altering their postage system from 1st June + I don`t want a hernia either, these can be posted out, but they will have to be sent in seperate boxes, around 4 should do it, postage on each box is £11.00 so postage to MAINLAND UK will be £44. If I have to go up to 5 boxes I`ll pay the extra -so £44 is the maximum postage price. I will only post these to MAINLAND UK due to postage price. Collection can be made from my home, which is just off Junction 9 - M6. I Won`t end the auction early as I won`t be here, I have given hopefully as much information as I can, because I`ll be busy, my Wife will be here to help out if it is really necessary - but please don`t ask her about specifics etc she`s the one who wants them all gone. I am going to try and list all my seventies, eighties and newer ones too so they can start at later intervals through e-bay. So anyone who is wanting to collect can collect them all at once if they want. They should be on in the next few days anyway. Sorry to take up so much time of yours, and happy e-baying. Oh the arch in the first photo is where I was kneeling to lay them all out, on the far side is Parlophone, Green Columbia,HMV, Pye, moving towards Decca, Fontana, Philips, London, down to multicolour Columbia, MGM etc.
