Brazilian Music/Tropicalia/Psych-Rock. The band that backed Gal Gosta at the peak of her career, during the 1969 tour for her classic Tropicalia album, on it´s LP debut, the self-titled "Os Brazões" released by RGE in 1969, original mono pressing. The group was also the support band of choice for several Tropicalia acts like Jards Macalé and Jorge Mautner among others. One of it´s members, Miguel de Deus, later had a solo career as a Brazilian Soul artist. Track list: Pega a Voga Cabeludo (written by Gilberto Gil), Canastra Real, Modulo Lunar, Wolkswagen Blues, Tão Longe de Mim, Carolina Carol Bela, Feitiço (written by Tomzé), Planador (the biggest hit of the band, available as audio sample above), Espiral, Gotham City (written by Macalé and Capinam), Momento B-8 (written by Rogerio Duprat and Brazilian Octopus, available as audio sample at My Yahoo or Newsgator link below), Que Maravilha. Liner notes by Nelson Motta. Several of these tracks are not available elsewhere and are indispensable for any Tropicalia completist and psych-rock buffs. The record is in very good condition, has some background noise but is an enjoyable listening. Check the audio samples to have an idea of the audio quality, they were taken from the actual record without any computer enhacements. What you hear is what you get. Jacket is in excellent condition, was probably mantained in a plastic cover during its 36 years, don´t even have signs of ageing, it´s beautiful preserved without pen marks or split seams.
