BLUE NOTE BLP-4112 "GO!" DEXTER GORDON
Original Pressing DEXTER GORDON LP on BLUE NOTE w/ Deep Groove
This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, blue on white, "NEW YORK, USA address label, Blue Note Records, 1962 release of "GO!" BLP-4112, by DEXTER GORDON, complete with deep grooved label, and "VAN GELDER" and "EAR" symbol in tail-off. The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard. His quartet features: DEXTER GORDON - tenor; SONNY CLARK - piano; BUTCH WARREN - bass; and BILLY HIGGINS - drums.
The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it VG+(+) based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks beautiful. There is very light wear, no scratches, and very light scuffing from sliding in and out of jacket. Minimal spindle marks. The original jacket has light surface wear but has retained most of its original gloss. Otherwise no writing or dings. The edges show some light wear but no seam splits except approx. 1.5 " starting on top-center. Light wear to corners with ding on upper left. Back cover also shows surface wear, otherwise in good shape with no writing or marks. Record ships with non-original inner sleeve. No reserve!
