Description
Junior Thomson's recording of Who's Knocking is a really great record.
This 69-year-old record is in marvellous condition.
It is extremely rare and one hardly ever appears for sale. Consequently it is on many people's want lists.
I bought it in 1967 at Irene and Tom Phillips Select-o-Hits shop in Memphis. Back then I was staying as a guest at Jerry Lee's house and he would run me to the shop so that I could look in their warehouse for rock'n'roll records. There were millions of old Sun and other "Cut out" discs stored there. Sometimes Dewey Phillips, the ex DJ, was there and sometimes I would take a disc I found to hear it in the front shop. If Dewey liked it he would slam his fist on the counter and declare "It's a Hit".
While I was there Sam the Sham and Bob Hite were also searching through the 8ft high stacks of 100 boxes of records but they were both looking for Blues records.
Back to this very rare Tune 45 record that, unusually, has no catalogue number. It will be carefully padded and wrapped in a parcel and will be sent by UK's Royal Mail - postage will be free.
