IMPULSE: A-85 "JOHN COLTRANE QUARTETTE PLAYS"  THE JOHN COLTRANE QUARTETTE

Original Pressing JOHN COLTRANE LP  on the IMPULSE Label

This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, orange on black, label, IMPULSE! Records, 1965 release of "JOHN COLTRANE QUARTETTE PLAYS" A-85, by THE JOHN COLTRANE QUARTETTE, complete with DEEP GROOVE.  The original gatefold jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard.  The album features JOHN COLTRANE - saxophones;   McCOY TYNER -  piano;   JIMMY GARRISON or ART DAVIS - bass; and ELVIN JONES - drums.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it NM- based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks beautiful.  There are a couple of very light scuffs and appears well cared for.  Minimal spindle marks.  The original gatefold jacket also looks great, maintaining most of its original gloss, with no writing, marks, or dings.  The edges look strong with NO seam splits.  Very light wear to corners with a light ding to upper right corner.  The gatefold interior looks great with a strong spine, and no writing, marks, or dings.  Back cover also looks nice with very mild surface wear with no writing or marks.  Record ships with non-original  inner sleeve.  No reserve!

Please refer to my feedback for reports on other vintage LP's that I've sold on e-bay and please bid with complete confidence.
