Impossibly rare private acid/psych LP released on Fellowship records in 1969
This album is listed in the Acid Archives and was given a 5 star rating by Hans Pokora in his book 1001 Record Collector Dreams. There are three past sales of this record that can be checked at popsike.com to give you an idea of the true rarity and condition of this gem. My reserve is set in the middle of those prices.
Michigan Avenue by Omega
FWP-110
Personnel include- David Livingston (flip); Bob Rose; David McNiel (mac); Rob Ibarra; Jim Pass; Penny Cathey as guest vocalist.
Tracks are:
THE HEAVY SIDE-michigan avenue; echoes of emptiness; things that make the world go round & round; minas morgul; I corinthians 13; michigan avenue (reprise)
THE LIGHT SIDE-how long will it be; inasmuch; how will I know; cold turkey; you came; saturday (mich. ave.)
I have tried to include as many pictures as possible to aid in the grading process. As you can see, this copy even includes the original 11 1/2 X 19 in. folding insert lyric sheet still with crisp corners, only two minor stains about the width of a pencil, and some very minor creasing at the top of the fold.
The cover is in remarkably excellent shape having only very minor corner wear and the faintest beginnings of some ring wear at the bottom of the name Omega. All seams are solidly intact with the photo wrap still clearly visible on edges. There is a name "P. Sherman" written neatly in black marker at the top right corner on the front. The back is very clean with all print clear and the edges of the rear slick still solidly factory glued with no peeling or wear.
The vinyl is very clean with the faintest of background noise at start and through very quiet passages only. Still has good shine with no defects at a glance. When placed under good light though, sleeve marks are visible accounting for the light noise in quieter parts. I would CONSERVATIVELY grade this as a soft VG+.
The labels are both crisp, well centered and legible with no writing, stickers, tears, fading or other nonsense.
This is a beautiful copy of an extremely rare album.
All of my records are packaged and shipped with the utmost care. Vinyl is removed from outer cover and placed a in mylar sleeve to prevent seam splits during transit. I only use custom mailers, and use extra inserts for stiffness.
