Description

From the archives of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this incredibly RARE piece of Pop history.Olivia Newton-John Box Set. 10 LPs. Taiwan. No date but c.1978. New Jen Sheng. JST-002. On the rare occasions they have come up on eBay (Popsike lists only two!), the listings have misidentified the box set as Japanese or Korean. However, it’s most definitely Taiwanese as the price is printed on the box - NT$1000.00 – NT is New Taiwan Dollars. The albums comprise: Let Me Be There (1973); If You Love Me, Let Me Know (1974); Long Long Love (a misprint of Long Live Love from 1974); First Impressions (1974); Have You Never Been Mellow (1975); Clearly Love (1975); Come On Over (1976); Don’t Stop Believin’ (1976); Greatest Hits (1977); and Making A Good Thing Better (1977). Comes with multi-page lyric sheet as well as single page album listing – see photos. Nine of the LPs are rated Very Good Plus; the tenth – Greatest Hits – is rated only Good (with numerous scratches, some severe). The individual albums don’t come with covers and the box itself is in Very Good condition with some scratches and scuffs from storage. There is age spotting to the leaflets etc. It should also be noted that as this is a Taiwanese release, the pressings are not really up to Western standards, with some sides showing the occasional bubble or other vinyl imperfection. However, this box set is so incredibly rare, it’s unlikely any Olivia Newton-John is intending to play it. Check my other auctions for rarities and extremities including David Bowie, Queen, Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, Black Sabbath, rare Raven re-releases of cult Australian bands on vinyl, and a whole lot more.
