Description
Oliver Nelson (with Eric Dolphy, Richard Davis, Roy Haynes, Richard Wyands, George Duvivier) STRAIGHT AHEAD Prestige / New Jazz 8255, recorded 1961. Silver-on-blue Bergenfield Mono. Not deep groove. Unlaminated jacket is E: ringwear to bottom front as visible in photograph. Back cover panel is clean and unworn, but edges and corners are about half-white everywhere. Disc looks E and plays E-: Cyclical fuzzy patch ( from pressing heat?) makes for a sound for first several revolutions under opening ostinato on A-1. One pressing crater midway on A-3 is not audible. B-1 blemish and a very gentle paper scuff are also not audible.
Nineteenth offering from the vast, very special collection of an international avant-garde LP maven, to be offered across the coming year. Most of these items have had one owner and one play, have not left the original house of the collector since purchase. You'll find that they're so clean that there's not much to say about them--but of course descriptions are thorough, accurate and guaranteed. Bid with confidence. Shipping at cost, as usual.
