Description
Oliver Nelson, Bill Evans, Eric Dolphy, Paul Chambers, Freddie Hubbard, and Roy Haynes, The Blues and the Abstract Truth, on Impulse A-5. Absolutely killer band performing six fabulous Nelson compositions. This is the original 1961 stereo, orange-label issue, with RVG stamped in the dead wax. It is in stunning M- shape with no spindle marks on the labels--gorgeous record--and it plays with brilliant fidelity and clarity throughout. The photo does not do it justice, as there are bits of dust and fibers visible that make it look less pristine than it is. Cover is excellent, with light general wear to the outside, a bit of laminate lifting (but not tearing) at the lower right, and moderate wear on the right-hand side of the inner gatefold. Tight seams, sharp corners, very tiny bit of wear at the base of the spine. No writing, tears, holes, etc. A stunning copy of a stunning record, and one of the rarest and most sought-after early Impulse LPs.

VG+ Light marks, full shine, great looking record
VG Still fairly shiny but clearly a used record, light scratches, will play well but with some surface noise
VG- Played or used more heavily, lots of scratches, more pronounced surface noise, but still plays through okay
