OINGO BOINGO ' "Only A Lad"
This is the debut studio album by Oingo Boingo titled "Only A Lad". Length: 38:12, 10 songs. Released by A&M Records in 1981. In stereo. Catalog #SP 4863. The record has been played a few times including today and it is still in very good condition. No skips, pops, scratches, crackling, or scuff marks. Jacket is in good condition with slight ringwear at the top of the front and back. Sleeve inside is also in good condition with band photos on one side and song lyrics on the other. I'm including a mini bio xeroxed from The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll ©2001. This is free. Not part of the listing price. I feel it would have been thoughful of the record company to have included this with the record for the buyers to better know what they're spending their hard-earned salaries on. Oingo Boingo was an American rock band formed by songwriter Danny Elfman in 1979. The band emerged from a surrealist musical theatre troupe, the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, that Elfman had previously led and written material for. Oingo Boingo was known for their high-energy live concerts and experimental music, which can be described as combining elements of music such as new wave, art, punk, ska, pop, jazz, and world, amongst other genres. The band's body of work spanned 17 years, with various genre and line-up changes. "Only a Lad" was highly praised upon release, though its success was limited to the band's Southern California region. With the backing of Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM, it established Oingo Boingo as a permanent fixture on the regional music scene. ©Wikipedia
