Rarity: this record actually does regularly come up on eBay, despite being a rare and unreleased record, as the planned first release by the band in early 1990. No CDs were produced for this release, and therefore all copies are either on 12”, or 7” vinyl. I have seen and handled the 12” in both a gloss black die-cut sleeve and also the picture sleeve, and indeed am selling a copy on a separate listing. I have only ever seen the 7” in a picture sleeve and have only owned two copies of the 7” over the last twenty-five years. I would estimate that there are 200-400 of the 12” in the market, so rare but not ‘super rare’, versus the 7” where I believe less than 20 units found there way out of the band’s hands onto the market. This 7” version is indeed the ‘Holy Grail’ for OCS collectors, and is bar far the rarest vinyl release to collect by the band! (These figures are purely given as my subjective context and as an avid collector of the band since 1995).

The vast bulk of my copies of the 12” were purchased direct from the band, arriving as soon as the doors opened at their gig merchandise stalls, which in those early days was regularly manned by Damon and Oscar! I snapped about 5 copies each night I attended gig nights for the ‘Marchin’ Already’ gigs through 1997-1998.  The vast bulk were unsigned, a few had a couple of the band’s signatures, and only one copy had the four complete set of signatures. (My understanding is that they were found within the band’s storage unit and they were simply ‘clearing them out’ via the UK shows only). I went to about five dates over this period and I remember only securing copies at the first 2-3 gigs, and copies soon running out.

This copy was not secured via the band – I secured two copies via a mail order company ‘Opal Music’ in 1996, and the company had secured a handful direct from the band themselves. I can remember buying at the princely sum of £40 each, in those days a lot of cash for a single 7” single!

For clarity this is an unsigned copy in full 7” picture sleeve and the rarest genuine ever vinyl release by OCS!

Condition: this is unplayed condition, and therefore contains the 7” black vinyl pressing and the outer ‘Tie-Dye’ effect sleeve. Condition-wise the outer delicate sleeve is in superb condition and at least excellent plus. They are all have very, very minor print imperfections without exception, which show as tiny white ‘dots’ within the purple finish, and always on the rear panel of the sleeve. The outer sleeve looks superb, no rubbing, no creases, no splits! Vinyl is unplayed, has no marks or handling and the original high gloss finish.

Overall grading is harshly graded as excellent plus (+) condition, and I very much doubt you will ever locate a better and unplayed copy of this rare 7” ever again! (This is my last copy having sold previously in 2008).

I have owned this record since 1996, and since then has been handled with care and quickly transposed it into a soft, thick plastic protective cover.
