OSIBISA

DEBUT

Released: 1971

Label: MCA

Catalogue: MDKS 8001

From my collection a rare UK 1st Pressing of Osibisa's debut album. Osibisa's debut album gatefold artwork by Roger Dean has to be one of the most colourful. These covers are extremely hard to find without ring wear or damage to the untreated soft card print. This copy however has been carefully stored away from light from new and kept within a plastic sleeve, so it is offered here in near mint condition, the vinyl has been hardly played so is also in near mint condition.

CONDITION:

VINYL SURFACES VISUALLY: Near Mint

Under halogen spot-lamp only a few extremely light superficial sleeve removal lines are noticeable, normal daylight both surfaces appear Near Mint no visible marks or lines are noticed.

LABELS: Near Mint

Both Labels are unmarked, one very faint and hardly noticeable spindle trace line.

COVER: Near Mint

This album has been cared for from new, sealed within a plastic sleeve from the day of its purchase and it has always stored away from light. The sleeve is very clean both inside and out, and without wear, two light creases to the back are noticed when held to light, please see photos below.

INNER SLEEVE: Excellent

light creasing.

VINYL AUDIO QUALITY: Near Mint

Generally the album looks Near Mint and plays brilliantly throughout all tracks , clear clean sounding, not a hint of distortion, quite passages have very occasional light tick from static, these are brief and hardly noticeable and not to be considered as background noise and to be expected on this media.

Please note all records advertised are from my personal collection, and so their condition is known to me, despite this I still inspect everyone both using a spot lamp and in normal light levels, this way can I be sure of giving potential purchasers the correct visual grading information. Audio quality, all my vinyl advertised is played through fully on both sides before advertising. I check on the rotating turntable to ensure the vinyl is flat.

I do not sell dull overplayed records, which have jumps, sticks or distortion. You would be purchasing this record from an avid music collector and someone who, like yourself fully appreciates the sound quality only attainable with vinyl records.

THE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM

MINT: The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and extra items are in perfect condition. Records advertised sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra Items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover suffers from folding scuffing of edges, of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.

POSTAGE & PACKING

To prevent damage to sleeves during postage and shipping I remove the vinyl from its original inner dust sleeve, the vinyl is then housed in a new poly-lined sleeve. The Cover Vinyl and Inner Dust Sleeve are placed within a protective plastic outer sleeve before packing into a Record mailer or mailing box depending on the record. I use either bubble-wrap or cardboard stiffeners to package the record in the best way to ensure you will receive the record in the same condition it left me.
