ORNETTE COLEMAN'S RARE, OUT-OF-PRINT, UNPLAYED ORIGINAL ATLANTIC RELEASE OF "THE SHAPE OF JAZZ TO COME".
I only rediscovered this disc a few weeks ago and was startled when I took the it out of the sleeve! The vinyl is absolutely magnificent! Look at those photos!!! For those of you not familiar, this is THE album that launched the concept of "Free Jazz!" and features Ornette Coleman's most famous composition, "Lonely Woman."
The covers and the inner sleeve, front and back, have no flaws, no splits, no blemishes, no discoloring whatsoever!
Now, some of the other major highlights: the purple Atlantic "wave" logo on the lower left of the cover; the "embossed" red STEREO on the upper right front cover! (I've NEVER seen this on an album before!) and the actual label has the original Atlantic Record colors of Green and Blue with the white fan logo. Yes, this is the REAL DEAL!
