Description

This is an absolutely stunningly beautiful original 1961 first pressing of Ornette Coleman's classic Free Jazz LP on Atlantic mono 1364. Original "white fan" logo on the original pink and purple label. Features Don Cherry and Freddie Hubbard, among others. This was truly a revolutionary recording at the time and it's easy to see why when you hear a copy like this. Absolutely incredible sounding copy here! The disc is very nearly perfectly mint and plays completely flawlessly and just beautifully. The laminated, due-cut cover is also almost pristine, with only the slightest tiny corner ding at the lower left, barely. I have collected Jazz records for many years and have never ever once seen a copy as good as this. Truly a fantastic find. This copy also features an original sticker on the back from Hal's Record Den in Los Altos, California, a somewhat legendary shop for Jazz in those days. Anyhow this is a top, top original copy, near impossible to beat.
