From the John & Roberta Petersen estate. John was drummer for the Beau Brummels and Harper's Bizarre. Roberta worked at WB records as an A&R person and helped Warner sign the Lips. Up for auction is this set of hand written lyrics by The Flaming Lips for their first LP on Warner brothers records titled, "Hit to Death in the Future Head". The lyrics and titles aren't all complete but these are original hand written lyrics. These are not copies. There's also a song titled "Christmas Time on Mars" which became "Jets Part 1" and was on their 1991 EP. Very rare to have hand written lyrics from such an amazing and unique band from close to 30 years ago. "Hit to Death in the Future Head is The Flaming Lips' fifth album and their debut album on Warner Bros. Records. It was released on August 5, 1992. It is also the first Flaming Lips album to receive a Parental Advisory warning, and was the only album of theirs to receive one until Oczy Mlody's release in 2017. The title for Talking about the Deathporn immortality blues (Everyone wants to live forever) provided inspiration for the name of the British band The Futureheads.
