Description
Hi All, I’ve sorted out a few choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting. OK for your consideration we have:
Title: SF SORROW by THE PRETTY THINGS
Cat No: SCX 6306 – stereo
Issue: Original 1968 issue on the BLUE & BLACK COLUMBIA Label
Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as VG; the vinyl is clean but is slightly dull in appearance retaining minimal gloss and sheen. Numerous light scratches and marks to both sides all being commensurate with age and grade however, there are a few more noticeable scratches on side 2 – although these are feelable they do not affect play – no skips or jumps at all and it plays through perfectly. All in all, it’s a strong VG.
Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as VG; some mild static crackling/pops can be heard throughout the playback but nothing too drastic and all commensurate with grade. It’s a little more prominent at the run-ins and between the tracks, but even with headphones on it is a very rewarding listen with no skip, jumps or alarming clicks. The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable and overall the playback is a strong VG.
Label Condition: VG; as you can see in the phots minimal spindle marks and minor marks from careful handling; no major rips or damage at all to the labels. The silver script is clean and legible.
Cover Front: The front cover Grades as VG; the laminated front is clean and undamaged and has retained its shape quite well. The central image is clear and the lamination is VG. The soft cover is intact with no notable creases/splits, but there are a few gentle/mild laminate wrinkles etc.
Cover Back: VG; the laminated back is clean and damage free and shows slight ring wear in places and some minor age related wear showing. The inner gatefold is remarkably clean and damage free – all text clear and legible.
Spine: Good; the spine is intact, although it is rubbed the entire length – no text legible at all.
Corners: Good; all bumped/knocked and loss of laminate/colour.
Summary: This is a fab album and quite elusive – this copy is not at its best but it is a very playable copy in VG condition. I’ve owned and cherished this for many years and I know the new owner will be pleased with it. With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no-nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
