Description
I spent the 1970’s in America trawling through innumerable boxes at record fairs looking for gems like this . Time now for me to part with my collection so a great opportunity for a UK based collector to get their hands on a slice of rock history at a fraction of what it would cost to obtain from the USA . Both sides of this record were cut at 706 Union Avenue : Memphis : TN in early September 1954 & issued on SUN 209 the same month . It would however be a year before Elvis could break out of the south tied as he was to a weekly Saturday night appearance on Shreveport's Louisiana Hayride . That moment came when he signed with RCA Records in November 1955 . As part of the negotiations the deal included the masters to his 5 Sun singles which were then immediately pressed nationally on the new label .
