Description
THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE
"ELECTRIC LADYLAND"
1ST UK PRESS 1968
This is a rare EARLIEST 1st Press UK from 1968 with the text in WHITE! AND YES WHITE WAS THE FIRST PRINTING FOR THE FIRST PRESS AND NOT BLUE! You can read the article about this in the current JIMPRESS magazine Spring 2022 in which Jeff Gould (collector who bought the records that Jimi had in his flat after dying) in which there was a copy of the record with white text says "David King (who was the designer of the sleeve) specially told me that the first prints were all white text with the small Mitch/Noel photos.
In addition has all the rest of the characteristics of the rare 1st UK Press, A1/B1/A1/B1 and crossed matrix and inverted 613008/9 code above the normal one and altered records (record 1 sides A & D and record 2 B & C).
Matrix
Record 1 side A - 613008 (9 crossed) A//1 Stamper 1 2 1
Record 1 side D - 613008 (9 crossed) B//1 Stamper 1 2
Record 2 side B - 613009 (8 crossed) A (by hand) (B crossed)//1 Stamper 1 2 1 3
Record 2 side C - 613009 B (by hand) 6130089A (all crossed)//1 Stamper 1 2 6
The vinyl in both records in this set has been visually graded to be in very good condition. Please see below a description of grades and note that this vinyl is over 53 years old that has been played a lot and will not transform into anything else.
The black Track labels are in excellent condition.
The gatefold laminated cover with the nude ladies is in very good condition with creases, edge, ring and corner wear. It looks as if the cover was turned around by a shop censor showing in the outside the photo of Hendrix rather than the nude ladies (this was common in the 1st press for the shops). This unfortunatelly made the spine to be worn out and has been repaired from the inside with sello tape.

Visually-graded vinyl: A visual grading will identify physical flaws (such as scratches) and can help determine whether a record has been cared-for properly. A visual grading will not identify noise or crackle caused by non-visible sources. Most of the records I sell are between thirty and fifty years old and so it is likely that there may be some background noise even if they look perfect.

I am not a dealer but an amateur collector selling duplicated items or records that I no longer want to keep (mostly due to space). I do not clean records (other than a dust with anti-static) and unless indicated in the listing the records have been only visually inspected.
To show your record has arrived safely and you are happy, please leave feedback and I will reciprocate.
I offer reduced postage rates for combined multiple purchases. Usually I post on Thursdays.
Items are not insured and I will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in the post. All items are properly packaged and I always obtain proof of postage. Should you want to insure the item by registered post, please let me know and I will find out the additional cost. Please note that, whilst it it comparatively rare for items to be lost or damaged in the post , my part of the transaction contract is legally completed as soon as the item is in the hands of the Post Office. I will not, therefore, accept responsibility for any loss or damage by the Postal Services. Whilst I am happy to provide help and advice, all such claims remain the responsibility of and must be made by the buyer.
If the bidding exceeds £46, in the UK the item will be ONLY sent insured by special recorded next day guaranteed delivery post (insured up to a value of £500) at a cost of £10. The above P&P quoted is for UK only and the same principal on insurance will apply to international bidders.
I am happy dealing with international bidders but only accept PayPal and please contact for p&p costs.
