ORIGINAL GRAPHITE AND OIL TRANSFER DRAWING OF JOHN DENVER ALBUM COVER BY AWARD WINNING ARTIST MARK ENGLISH!!!

 

This is one in a series of three original drawings that artist Mark English completed for the cover of John Denver’s 1977 album cover “I Want To Live”.

 

It is drawn on Bainbridge cold press illustration board. The final one that was selected for the cover was a slightly different angle of John Denver’s face.

 

This drawing was created in 1977 and is matted and framed. Image size is 21 ½ x 19 ½.

Framed size is 30 x 28. The glass has been removed for shipping.

 

The current prices of 24 x 30 Mark English paintings average around $8,000. He is represented by Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in NYC and Telluride Gallery of Fine Art in Colorado.

Mark English (1933–) is an illustrator and painter whose work has appeared in such publications as Redbook, Sports Illustrated, McCall's, Atlantic Monthly, Good Housekeeping, TIME, and others. In 1983, English entered the Illustrators' Hall of Fame in New York. He is the most awarded illustrator in the history of the Society of Illustrators. In 1983 he was elected to the Illustrators Hall of Fame, Society of Illustrators. In 1969 he was voted Artist of the Year, Artist Guild of New York. In 1967 He received the Hamilton King Award, Society of Illustrators. These are just a few of the awards and honors Mark English has received. He no longer does illustrations and only focuses on painting and drawing for galleries.
