Description
A Near Mint condition copy of a very rare test pressing of the HECTIC 7" EP by Operation Ivy. Test pressings are sent by the vinyl pressing plant to the record label/band to "test" the pressing quality before a production run is approved, and typically there are only ~5 copies of these run off by the plant. This big-hole test pressing has typical stock labels from the plant without markings, but the text in the runoff grooves (and listening to the actual record) confirms it is Operation Ivy, Lookout Records catalog #3, record originally released in 1988. The grooves read on one side: LOOKOUT-3-A JG CRIMPSHRINE EAT SH*T, while the flipside reads: LOOKOUT-3-B ISOCRACY EAT SH*T. Please check the close-up pictures in the auction. Comes in the original blank white stock sleeve as sent from the plant. The tracks and takes are identical to a stock production copy:
