Description
This is a great example of the LP 'Standing Stone' by Oliver.
It's on the UK Tenth Planet label and is a re-issue of his classic prog/psych/acid folk LP from 1974 which disappeared without a trace. It's a classic and is now very difficult to find on vinyl.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is TP 001. This is no. 257 of a limited edition run of 500.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve is in fine condition. There is some very minor ring wear on the front and the rear. The edges and spine are in superb condition. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. It states at the bottom of the rear of the sleeve - 'All tracks composed and played by Oliver - All material C Oliver/Tenth Planet - ALL RIGHTS RESERVED - Cover. Steve McCarthy'. I've graded the sleeve Ex+.
INNER BAG - It's a plain white die cut paper type..
RECORD - The record is in superb condition. It appears to have been played only a few times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some very occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are in great condition. The label on side one gives the track credits and is printed in black on a white background. The label on side two is similar to the legendary Vertigo swirl type but is more simple with concentric black and white circles and no wording. There are very minor spindle marks on both labels The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - DFI 92-8 TP 001 OL 1 - SIDE - 1- B.B.C. - side two - DFI 92-8 TP 001 OL 1 - SIDE - 2 - B.B.C.. I've graded the record as Ex which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
