Barclay 80153, 1972 original issue (Canada)
Saint-Chrone De Neant is a brilliant rock mass......a bit like the Electric Prunes (Mass In F Minor) recorded back in '68 and the Mind Garage album done the following year........but Offenbach's rendition of The Mass Of The Dead was recorded on their own terms, live in front of 3000 admirers, inside Montreal's majestic Saint Joseph's Oratory on November 30 1972, sung entirely in Latin.....and with Montreal's renowned hip priest, Yvon Hubert celebrating the mass (see our other listings for Xian-Rock recordings by Hubert).......Hallelujah, man !!

With original members Jean (Johnny) Gravel (guitars), Gerry Boulet (organ,synthesizers, vocals), Michel (Willie) Lamothe Jr (bass), Roger (Wezo) Belval (drums), Pierre Harel (organ,vocals), and Quebec's renowned hip priest Yvon Hubert (who celebrated the Mass).
* Produced by Peter Tessier (who, of course, recorded his own coveted prog-psych gem, "By Turning a Knob" a couple of years later)
