Here is an AWESOME collection of super rare Frank Sinatra Columbia 45s & 33 singles!
BACKSTORY: Columbia Records debuted the 7-inch 33rpm microgroove single in Jan, 1949, but they sold poorly(for reasons too numerous the explain here). Bowing to marketplace pressure, Columbia started releasing 45s in mid-1950 and phased-out 7-inch 33s by fall-1951.
At the time, 78s still accounted for 90% of singles sales, so Columbia 45s & 33s sold very poorly. This fact coupled with Sinatra's career slump produced abysmal record sales for Frank(often selling less than 10,000 per release across all speeds). Consequently, these discs have become some of the most sought and coveted commercial Sinatra vinyl.
