A very rare 1979 boxed edition of Brian Eno & Peter Schmidt’s
'Oblique Strategies'
(subtitled Over One Hundred Worthwhile Dilemmas).
A deck of over one hundred 2.8 in x 3.5 inch printed cards in a black container box, the set of cards offers over one hundred worthwhile dilemmas.
Each Oblique Strategies card is printed with an inspirational suggestion of a creative strategy to assist in creative dilemmas. The legendary cards have been used worldwide by many artists and creative people all since they were initially published in 1975 as a combined project by Eno & Schmidt to assist creative thinking in any given situation by encouraging lateral or tangential thinking.
Oblique Strategies produced three limited edition printings – the first in 1975 (500 copies), the second in 1978 (2,500 copies ) and the rare third edition in 1979 (1,000 copies, which is the one you are viewing here).
The set for sale here has some minor rubbing to corners and edges of box commensurate with an item which is almost half a century old. All the cards are in perfect condition, no creases or damage.
