Im proud to offer you one of the best example of british acid folk. This is the magnificent OBERON on the private label ACORN. There are not so many notices on this group but from the beginning of my records collecting about 30 years ago if there's a specially rare items in any want list this was OBERON...there's collectors rumors that saying that only 50 copies was pressed but sincerelly I don't know if these notices are true ...there are so many uncertains notices in the record collecting market and any collector do have his opinion in this matter...anyway a thing it's sure: THIS IS A SUPERRARE lp. How many times have you seen this in ebay or in some records listings? Music it's a special acid folk sadness, very dark, melancholic..when you hear this strange acoustic/electric tenses you feel that something of new and great it's coming in your brain and inside your heart because this is an innovative sound...many people adore this magnificent album but I know also peoples that hate him because they can't emotionally traslate this musical quintessence but unfortunatelly a Shakespeare inspired album (for the title only!) can't be a so easy listening I think. Sometime you are flying along with the flute and then an acid violin wake up your acid edge and a female vocal beauty drag you inside a beautiful dream... Wonderfull really. There are 8 sublimes tracks and they are: Nottanum Town, Peggy, The Hunt, Summertime,  Time Past Time Come, Epitaph and There are seven members: Bernie Birchall play the Bass, Robin Clutterbuck play Guitar and his a vocalist, Nick Powell it's the percussionist, Jan Scrimgeour it's Vocalist and Guitarist, Charlie Seaward play the Flute, Julian Smedley play Violin and Vocalist too, Chris Smith play Acoustic and Electric Guitars. This is a 100% original copy and sleeve does have a white background with a beautiful black design...sleeve does have a little tear of about 1 cm across the right upper corner ...like a razor tear...and it's a bit dirty but just a little bit...so I call it EX-...vinyl look EX- too so without any noticeable wear if not a couple of very sperficial marks but this is not a DECCA press unfortunatelly and as for mostly privates you can hear some light crackles sometime but absolutelly nothing that can disturb so much the playing...this is the best copy you can have of this lp and I can say this because I have sold about 5 copies in my career. If you'll buy this one you'll have in your collection a masterpiece of the english folk or maybe the MASTERPIECE. There is a reserve of 900 $ here but really well worth spending at least this amount...this is because I need sleeping well the night...if I have to imagine that someone can win this for 100 $ I would not sleeping very well for sure, because I have paid this item a lot really... so sorry for this indispensable reserve.
