Very, very rare original vinyl issues in 1983/84 of the first two volumes in the ‘Now That’s What I call Music’ compilation series. In addition to being two 80s 'time capsules' and brilliantly put together compilations they have great historical significance as revolutionising the compilation market here and abroad. In the 80s compilations were either questionable or actually cover versions with differing quality. The 'Now' releases were awaited with eager anticipation and became the de facto Christmas present for music lovers at a time when the UK music chart meant something. These releases offered a diverse and encompassed a range of genres - it was an opportunity to discover new music in addition to the popular 'Number 1s'.

Now 1 features eleven songs which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart: "You Can't Hurry Love" "Is There Something I Should Know?", "Red Red Wine", "Give It Up", "Total Eclipse of the Heart", "Karma Chameleon", "Too Shy", "Down Under", "Baby Jane", "Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)" and "Candy Girl".

Now 2 was the first album in the series to be compiled by Ashley Abram, who compiled every Now album in the series, until Now 81 in 2012. Now 2 features four songs which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart: "Only You", "99 Red Balloons", "Relax" and "Pipes Of Peace".
