Description
On offer is The Marvelettes Northern Soul 7" Single "You're The One" from 1966.
There are two truly brilliant tracks on this much sought after record from one of the most under-rated groups on the label at that time.
From the very beginning of the A-Side and without looking at the label you just know that it was written and produced by Smokey Robinson as it just oozes class. It is an excellent midtempo dancer with an unusually simple hammond and drum backing and features a superb sax solo. It is very simillar in style and tempo to the later My Baby Must Be A Magician. The B-Side is an equally good but earlier in style uptempo dancer reminiscent of their earliest recordings especially Please Mr.Postman. Also co-written and produced by Smokey Robinson.
This is the original UK release on the Tamla Motown label and is one of the harder to find of the 500 series especially in such immaculate condition.
