Description
The rarest one by Herb Ward. Argo 5510 from 1965. Strange Change on one side and Why Do You Want to Leave Me on the Flip. Kev Roberts has this Herb Ward record listed at No. 488 in his book The Northern Soul Top 500-Special Edition. He states in the book that Herb Ward is actually Herb Johnson who also recorded for other labels like Toxsan, Tyler and Arctic. Martin Koppel and Tim Brown in their guide, The Essential Northern Soul Price Guide, has Argo 5510 listed at 350 pounds ($600-700 USD). Now for condition: I played through both sides and they play very well, no skips or clicks. There are surface scuffs but you cannot hear them. There is some background static but is mainly at the very beginning and by the time you get full swing into the music its gone. A pretty typical record from the 1960s, it is used but plays nice. Looking at the label pictures you can see a label spot on the Why Do You Want To Leave Me side, it is a stain and some of the surface of the label has been scraped. There is also a name (Parker) writtened on it, the same name is writtened on the flip side. If I was to compare the Strange Change side its plays just a hair better because the static at the beginning is not as noticeably. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. I copied it at the same time so I have only played it once myself. I could send a snipet of the songs but I do not like the way the sounds are through the computer, kinda tinny. I used Audacity software but it was my first time and I need to learn how to do it better. I will gladly shipped worldwide but we will work out the shipping, in the US we can ship media mail for $ 3.00. Based on final value, we will probably need to add insurance costs for protection.
