Description

I have resolved to recommence selling my treasured soul vinyl collection (very reluctantly), which is sizeable so I guess I’ll be around on eBAY for a while. I will endeavour to provide an honest and accurate assessment in terms of descriptions, but will be happy to consider a full refund in the event of any valid dissatisfaction. Where possible I prefer not to use the familiar record grading guide (such as VG etc) because they seem to offer little explanation and favour a seller’s perspective  – previous feedback suggests you’ll find the record is better than described.

They’re all in polythene-lined cardboard sleeves (with the exception of picture covers). I may have the original sleeve but please bid as though I haven’t. I’m well out of touch with the northern scene and will be largely guided by other sellers as regards what will be auctioned. Many of the records have my name written on the label (I know!) but all those years ago – longer than I care to remember – there was NO chance of me EVER selling them!

I don’t want to get into leaving rigid or abrasive terms and conditions although I have discovered why some sellers get frustrated into doing so. Therefore, if you like to leave it a few days before paying / communicating, please don’t bid. I’m not a dealer and it’s difficult enough having to part with them (I despatch very quickly …. once they’re no longer mine I just want shot of ‘em!)

Please clarify any uncertainty about an item BEFORE bidding, particularly if you’re seeking to buy only original copies of records (you’re probably more likely to know than me!). I will only post items on a recorded / signed-for basis – please don’t bid if you prefer to chance standard postage …. I won’t!

I will post worldwide. Please contact me regarding postal cost if you are an overseas bidder. Many thanks.

I’m currently selling in multiples, some by label, some by artist and some assorted. However, some of my highly valued buyers clearly still only want to purchase singles (I can’t seem to get the balance right!), therefore I’ll be selling individual records as well.

I prefer PayPal but will accept postal orders and personal cheques. I will also combine postage with the exception of the 12 x ‘no nonsense’ packs (i.e just on multiple purchase of singles)

This batch of varying tempo dancers are all in outstanding condition unless otherwise stated:

Karl Evans – Oo Wee Let It Be Me Babe / Music Box – Wee Oo I’ll Let

It Be You Babe (inst) – Skyway (a handful of fine insignificant scuffs.

This plays bril but the label has been amended in biro. £20 on

      Manship site)

Jackie Lavant & The Fashions – I Don’t Mind Doin’ It – Phil LA Of Soul

      (£15 on Manship site

Showtime Incorporated – Please Take This Heart Of Mine, Girl / Don’t

Stop – Black Circle (try and obtain a copy of this elsewhere! there

are two very fine insignificant scuffs on otherwise stunning, near

mint looking vinyl. this is rare)

The Esquires – The Feeling’s Gone / Why Can’t I Stop – Bunky (great

dancer in stunning, near mint condition. £15 on Manship site)

Otis & Carla – Lovey Dovey – Stax (hardly played dancer in stunning

      condition)

The Whatnauts & The Whatnaut Band – Dance To The Music /

      Message From A Black Man – A & I (a handful of fine insignificant

      scuff – plays fine)

Don Downing – Dream World / Inst – Scepter (hardly played)

Box Tops – People Gonna Talk – Bell (numerous fine scuffs and

surface marks. There is also some background crackle, which is

      bearable)

Sam & Dave – Holdin’ On / Ooh, Ooh, Ooh – Atlantic (stunning, near

      mint condition)

Keanya Collins – You Don’t Own Me – ITCC (a number of scuffs and

an occasional faint crackle – really not bad though. One that plays

      better with a centre)

Bill Withers – The Same Love That Made Me Laugh – Sussex (around

a dozen ‘clicks’ right at the start, which is a shame as the vinyl is

      stunning otherwise)

Bobby Moore & The Rhythem Aces – I Wanna Be Your Man – Checker

      (near mint – I don’t think it’s been played

Apologies for the now familiar inept photography – shouldn’t be allowed near a camera!
