No Mean City by Nazareth.
or Rating:
Performer Notes: Nazareth includes: Zal Cleminson.
This 1998 reissue has been digitally remastered and includes 3 bonus tracks.
Iron Maiden is usually noted as one of the first heavy metal bands to use eerie artwork for their album covers (even going so far as to name their gory mascot "Eddie"). But Nazareth was one of the first to use horror-like illustrations, as evidenced by such releases as 1978's NO MEAN CITY.
Here, musically Nazareth is just as nasty as ever, reeling off a mix of raunchy rockers sprinkled with power ballads that demand your immediate Bic-wielding attention. The album features the debut of new guitarist Zal Cleminson, previously a member of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, and includes such standouts as "Just to Get Into It," "May the Sunshine," and the title track.
