Nirvana - In Utero - Super Rare 12" STEVE ALBINI mix

Up for auction is the super rare original Steve Albini mix for Nirvana's final release: "IN UTERO". Apparently there was a need to press additional copies of this album in 2003. A company in Germany was given the job of pressing these, but no one was aware that they were mistakenly given the original unreleased master tapes, tapes that contained mixes of  "Heart Shaped Box" and "All Apologies" that were "too intense" and thus not "radio friendly". It is generally accepted but not confirmed that this is Steve Albini's original, unaltered mix of the album. The albums were released but eventually the mistake was discovered and most of these albums were recalled.

This rare recording can be identified by the following criteria. The catalog number is: 424 536-1 . This catalog number appears on both the record and the spine of the record sleeve. It was manufactured on the Universal UK/Geffen label.The UPC price code is: 0720642453612. Near the UPC code is an additional alpha/numeric notation: LC  07266.  And lastly and most definitively the matrix numbers in the dead wax are machine stamped as follows: A33 9124 536 S1 320  and  A33 9124 536 S2 320,

But, I felt it was necessary to open this previously shrink wrapped album to confirm conclusively that this was in fact the rare original Albini unaltered master recording release. Therefore you should realise that this album is now missing the shrink wrap that appears in the photo.

As stated, I removed the shrink wrap, this record has never been played and is in MINT condition, as is the album cover. The album comes complete with the lyric insert.
